Welcome to the Oregon eSIS web site. This site is intended as eSIS_image.gifan open exchange of ideas, issues, and progress surrounding the adoption of a new student information system, eSIS.

eSIS is the trademark name of a comprehensive student information system created by AAL, a company based in Toronto, Canada.  Districts across the country are struggling with issues similar to those we face in Oregon.  Lack of school funding, declining resources, and the need for more efficient, effective student tracking and better student demographic data have led many districts to systems that are web-based, so that data entered is immediately available in real time.

For this reason multiple districts throughout Oregon have come together to share resources in the development and implementation of this new approach to tracking and reporting student information. With decreased school funding, members of this site have come together to share costs, collaborate, and discuss the eSIS implementation. This collaboration means that we are creating common approaches and solutions to problems faced by K-12 school districts across the state.  The spirit of cooperation and sharing allows each of us to build upon the successes and to avoid the missteps of preceding implementations.

In the future, collaboration such as this will increase our effectiveness and our efficiency in supporting student data tracking and reporting requirements, while maintaining focus on the needs of each of our participating districts.  We hope to extend this collaboration to include common discussions of curriculum and instruction and the use of accurate data for school planning efforts.

Welcome to Oregon eSIS.  We look forward to developing eSIS with you.
